Gold Derby nuggets: Vanessa Williams to host Daytime Emmys | Trailer for Rob Marshall's 'Nine' is out
• After doing the job successfully eight times in the past, Don Mischer has been tapped to be executive producer of the next Primetime Emmys, which will be telecast by CBS on Sept. 20.
• Host of the Daytime Emmys ceremony, to be telecast on the CW on Aug. 30, will be Vanessa Williams ("Ugly Betty"). That news got buried under the avalanche of nomination shockeroos earlier today. GOLD DERBY
• Another head-scratching Emmy mystery: The TV academy has announced what seems, on the surface of things, like good news. Now here's the spectacular trailer for "Nine" starring past Oscar grabbers Penelope Cruz, Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Sophia Loren and Nicole Kidman. Marshall's adaptation of the Broadway tuner opens November 25, pushed by Harvey Weinstein. Back in 1982, "Nine" beat "Dreamgirls" for best musical at the Tonys — and even won the director's prize for Tommy Tune!
