Let's peek inside HBO's Emmy campaign box

Early this week, members of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences began receiving HBO's Emmy campaign box, which includes the DVDs listed below. Under the top two photos, click on the "continue reading" link to see more pix, including a close-up of one key print section in the "Grey Gardens" section: confirmation that the network is campaigning both Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange for the lead actress race for TV movies.

BIG LOVE needs to be nominated this year. It is the best acted show on t.v. I hope CHLOE SEVIGNY gets nominated - she is amazing. Her "Nicki" is so complex. Praise to its writers as well, they are amazing.

Jeanne Tripplehorn for Best Supporting Actress? For those few minutes? She was "okay" but far from award-winning, especially in comparison to Barrymore and Lange. Barrymore and Lange just disappeared into their roles. Tripplehorn just bore a similar appearance, and not much more.

Thanks for the scoop, Tom. Some of these DVDs are posted on ebay, where more category placement is clear (like Janet McTeer going lead for Into the Storm). Could you or Boomer possibly add confirmed category placements for these HBO programs in the "official Emmy submissions" thread?

Where is the Will Ferrell special?

What's up with HBO and the episodes they chose from Big Love? ''Prom Queen'' and ''On Trial'' were great, but the big guns are definitetely ''Come Ye, Saints'', and ''Rough Edges'', ''Outer Darkness''. All the leads (Paxton , Tripplehorn, Sevigny, Goodwin) get the chance to shine in these three episodes. I hope this isn't the first sign of something terrible, like the Emmys forgetting about the best family drama on TV AGAIN! Altough, I have to admit... Grace Zabriskie was heart breaking in ''Prom Queen''.
