Craig Ferguson or Neil Patrick Harris to host the Emmys?
Neil Patrick Harris performed so well hosting the Tonys and TV Land Awards that there's a lot of Internet speculation that the CBS star of "How I Met Your Mother" will emcee the Emmys on Sept. 13, which will be telecast on CBS.
The network that airs the awardsfest usually picks one of its own tribe as ringmaster, then gets the TV academy to rubber stamp the choice. The New York Post reported the other day, "Late-night CBS talk-show host Craig Ferguson is reportedly going to host the September awards show."
When Gold Derby recently ran a poll, asking our readers who should host, the two overwhelming front-runners were Wanda Sykes (29.8%) and Stephen Colbert (28.8%).

Not quite Sophie's choice, but it's impossible to choose.
Why not have them both host? Imagine the skits and pace!

Either would be great. Craig's book comes out around that time which would be a nice bump for him, and NPH (who is not a hack or dull or boring, Lee Greene) would be hosting during his best shot at winning one of those statues.
Neil has time, give it to Craig.

I'd love to see Stewart and Colbert, NPH also rocks.

NPH is a hack. Dull and boring. Not the least bit funny or entertaining. Craig Ferguson should host EVERY awards show there is. Cynical? Whom are you watching? He is funny as hell and guests LOVE being on his show because he is a natural and just chats and has fun - he doesn't care about their promotions! His monologues are hilarious and he is pretty unbiased on all issues. If abc wants rating, Craig Ferguson is the way to go -- no contest!

CRAIG IS THE FUNNIEST GUY I'VE EVER SEEN. I really enjoy his show and can't wait to see what he has to say. I think he doesn't get enough credit. If he hosted, I would watch an awards show for the first time in my life. And ya know what? --I only discovered him a few weeks ago, and I am hooked! I didn't think late night could be laugh-out-loud hilarious, just mildly entertaining. But he is the best thing ever.

I think Craig Ferguson of the late late show should be the emcee of the emmy's award show. He certainly is hilarious, talented and very charming. He can win any audience over. I think he would be better and more entertaining . Giv him a chance.

I think that Craig Ferguson would be a terrific host. He is very funny and also very talented. He certainly can dance, sing and be as hilarious as any one else. He is very charming and can certainly win an audience over, as judged by his popularity of his own show.

Craig Ferguson is my perferred late night host. Though, I would love to see Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart team up to host because their small bits the past couple of years have been hilarious.

I'm confused...Which one's the funny guy??
Posted by: shaun | June 11, 2009 at 12:54 AM
NEIL PATRICK HARRIS, hands down! And please NOOOOOOOO to Ferguson! He's one of the really UNfunny guys on TV. He's usually cynical and won't be able to make the crowd relax and enjoy the show! Neil Patrick Harris is a charmer and will just make it work! And a dance number won't hurt! Anyway, I don't expect the Emmys to be a good show! I watch them since 2005 and they've never never never been!

I vote for Craig Ferguson. I think NPH would be great hosting, but I want him to win an Emmy before he starts hosting the show.
