Michael Jackson might win another Grammy for best video
"Two weeks before he died, Michael Jackson wrapped up work on an elaborate production dubbed the 'Dome Project' that could be the final finished video piece overseen by the King of Pop," reports the Associated Press. "Shooting for the project lasted from June 1-9, with Jackson on the set most days. Now in post-production, the project is expected to be completed July 15."
If this report is true, Michael Jackson might win yet another Grammy for best video after three previous victories: "Scream" (best short form video, 1995, shared with sister Janet Jackson), "Leave Me Alone" (best short form, 1989) and "Making Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'" (best video album, 1984).
The same year he won in the short-form race for "Leave Me Alone," he was nominated in the race for long forms for "Moonwalker," losing to sister Janet's "Rhythm Nation 1814." He was also nominated in the short-form category in 1996 for "Earth Song," losing to the Beatles' "Free As a Bird."

I agree with TheFaze, but, all things being equal, MAYBE one day due to rising sentiment for Michael in ANY year, the Earth Song video will get the BIGGEST Ups it DESERVES.

People outside of the US- stop trying to act as if you have the correct analysis of how Americans felt/feel about Michael Jackson! Let me tell you that throughout ALL of his troubles, no one at my high school (I graduated in 2006) or in my family thought he was guilty! And he was still HIGHLY REGARDED in the music world as an INNOVATOR... and suggesting someone else as the "new king of pop" was almost BLAPHEMY! It was laughable when they tried to bestow that title on Justin Timberlake (pssh.) Yes, the American MEDIA has been bad... but the FANS and even the rest of the music industry (where all young artist count him as an influence) ALWAYS loved Michael. Stop watching our "programs" on youtube. Nobody EVER cared what they had to say. BTW, the Bashir documentary was BRITISH. That was the worst thing I saw from the media on him. After that, American interviews I remember were pretty good. (Geraldo, and Ebony). Stop it. America loved their icon, and the MEDIA is not a voice of the people, and never has been.

DON, Michael Jackson's guitarist is ORIANTI - just search google by her name with Michael Jackson and you will find loads on her.
As for Michael Jackson, foreigner is right that some people in the U.S. think that MJ's coverage is excessive - but that is what happens when people just don't get it. There are so many people (mainly in U.S.) who still feel he was a pedophile. This includes some law makers and lawyers - not just parents. Then again, even Jesus was MISUNDERSTOOD & MURDERED. Michael was God's favourite child and he endured his tests wonderfully. He is at peace now - a real angel - and will be loved by his fans forever and ever!

It takes greatness to see greatness. I do not understand Americans. You are so lucky to have Michael in your land that you don't realise it. How true it is, "a prophet is not recognised in his own country". Michael belongs to the world. The world misses Michael. If it seems excessive or so called 'over-rated' in the USA, the rest of the world does not have enough of Michael and we love him very much and miss him very dearly.

Michael got robbed when Earth Song did not win best video. I dare anyone to watch that video and the Beatles video and tell me that Earth Song is not the better video. It only lost due to rising sentiment for the Beatles that year. What a complete waste of an award.
