Quiz: Which movies reaped bids from the guilds but weren't nominated for best picture at the Oscars?

December 9, 2009 |  7:47 am

Last year, "The Dark Knight" nabbed top nominations from three of the key union kudos -- the producers, writers and directors guilds -- but it wasn't nominated for best picture at the Oscars! That same outrage occurred with several other films in past years. They include two movies pictured below. Can you spot them? To see the answer, click the "Continue Reading" link underneath the photos.

ANSWER: "Almost Famous" and "Being John Malkovich." They also had Screen Actors Guild nominations for best ensemble. "Into the Wild" was nommed by the Directors Guild of America and the Writers Guild of America, but not the Producers Guild of America. "The Incredibles" was nommed by the PGA, but not the DGA, and it was not eligible at the WGA. "The Incredibles" did win best animated feature at the Oscars. None of these four films made the Oscar high five.
