Cinema Audio Society unveils nominees

As expected, sci-fi films dominate movies nominated by the Cinema Audio Society. Awards will be doled out Feb. 27 at L.A.'s Millennium Biltmore Hotel. The Career Achievement Award will be presented to Randy Thom, director of sound design at Skywalker Sound, and the CAS Filmmaker Award will be presented to stop-motion filmmaker Henry Selick. KTLA entertainment reporter Sam Rubin will emcee the gala.
