Golden Globes' red carpet: Sneak peak at TV celebrity interview platforms

January 17, 2010 | 10:15 am

It costs TV channels hundreds of thousands of dollars to nab one of the few platform positions along the red carpet at the Golden Globes. E! actually has two spots. The first photo below (taken on Saturday during setup and rehearsals) shows the platform at the second position along the carpet, right after the entrance where limos drop off the stars. ("Entertainment Tonight" always gets the first position at award shows.) So this is where Ryan Seacrest will hold forth today. The second E! position is far down the carpet, located underneath the big, sprawling roof that covers the front entrance to the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Check out the photos after the jump (click "Continue Reading") to see where TV Guide Channel puts its second position -- up above that sprawling roof, thus getting a dramatic view of the scene below.  I wonder how much they have to pay for that.

Check out more of our spy photos of the Golden Globes' red carpet taken on Saturday here and here.
