Our own experts -- the forum moderators -- predict Golden Globe winners: Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep & Robert Downey Jr.

January 4, 2010 |  2:22 pm

Unlike the 19 pro pundits who weighed in with Golden Globe predictions, 7 of our forum moderators think that the main competition for "Up in the Air" as best drama picture is "Inglourious Basterds" rather than "Avatar."  While the pros were almost evenly divided as to the winner of the drama movie actress -- with a slim majority going with Carey Mulligan ("An Education") -- our moderators are firmly on the side of Sandra Bullock ("The Blind Side"). Neither the pros nor the moderators can agree on who will win drama movie actor or comedy/musical movie. As with all but one of the pros, our moderators agree that Meryl Streep ("Julie & Julia") will win comedy/musical movie actress. However, almost all of our moderators are backing Robert Downey Jr. ("Sherlock Holmes") to win comedy/musical movie actor while the pros spread their predictions around all five contenders.

The seven moderators who closely follow these kudos are: Chris Beachum ("Boomer"), Matthew Cormier ("Boidiva02"), Darrin Dortch ("Double D" ), Robert Licuria ("Rob L"), Andrew Pickett ("andrew"), David Schnelwar ("Guru") and Paul Sheehan.

Monique should win best supporting actress. Gabourey Sidibe should win best actress and I hope Morgan Freeman wins for Invictus as best actor.

The movie was the best
