Podcast: Bryce Dallas Howard on 'Loss of a Teardrop Diamond'
"The notion of initiating a Tennessee Williams heroine is an extraordinary thought," Bryce Dallas Howard confesses to Gold Derby in our podcast chat about "Loss a Teardrop Diamond." "This film was written in 1957 and was intended for Elia Kazan to direct and Julie Harris to play the lead role," she adds, but the script went, strangely, unproduced until now.
Howard portrays a classic Williams-styled Southern debutante in the 1920s, who tries to pass off a lower-class lad as her upper-class suitor until a valuable family heirloom goes missing — the teardrop diamond earrings of the film's title — and mayhem and madness ensue.
