Videos: Tom and Pete dish those rascally Oscar nominations
Moments after the Oscar nominations were announced early this morning at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, Pete Hammond (Notes on a Season) and I dished the top races via flipcam operated by our L.A. Times colleague Lora Victorio. (Thanks, Lora!) To get a first-hand sense of the scene at the Oscars' press conference, check out this nifty panorama photo by Bryan Chan. You can manipulate the image, spinning it right or left for different perspectives, while listening to Anne Hathaway read off the nominees for best picture.
Video discussions below, in descending order: Pete and I tackle best picture, lead and supporting actor races, lead and supporting actress races, biggest snubs and surprises.

It is such a pleasure to watch these two experts discuss the nominations! It's great to listen to people who actually KNOW what they are talking about. The information that they have between them is a wonderful testament to the work that they do on a daily basis to keep us all informed. Bravo!! Now I need to go see In the Loop...I missed that one!

Yes! I'm so happy Pete and Tom did videos...I was beginning to wonder why there hadn't been any before nominations came out.
