Showbiz awards have been just as elusive as the holy grail to Monty Python. The classic U.K. comedy troupe has never won a chunk of Hollywood gold — what an outrage! — but now IFC's six-part retrospective is in the Emmy running for best nonfiction series.

"Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut)" includes highlights of past performances plus interviews with its famous funny men Terry Jones, John Cleese, Eric Idle and Michael Palin. Interspersed are views of current comedians, such as Jimmy Fallon and Seth Green, who admit to stealing freely from the Brit pioneers.

Below, our chat with Terry Jones, whose son Bill Jones was among the producers and directors of "Almost the Truth."
