Pundits' slugfest: Emmy nominations predictions -- best drama series
The Emmy race for best drama series is a real drama this year. There are too many contenders for the six slots to be revealed on Thursday morning. Gold Derby gurus Chris "Boomer" Beachum, Rob Licuria (AwardsHeaven.net) and I agree on five programs, but then we clash on what gets in that sixth position. None of us is picking "Big Love," which was nominated last year, not because we don't think it can sneak in, but because too many other shows are crowding the race track, including ones with good odds that we're leaving off of our list of definites: "Treme," "Sons of Anarchy," "Justified," "24" and "True Blood." Also in the running: "Burn Notice," "Friday Night Lights," "The Mentalist," etc.
Part two of this video continues after the jump. Also check out our video slugfests over who will win comedy series, lead drama actor and lead drama actress. Plus, see the complete lists of our Emmy predix, category per category: mine, Rob's and Chris'.

Wow, even though I think you are super crazy for not liking The Wire, and it does make be question your taste level, I guess I have to give some respect for actually admitting such a thing.

You don't like the Wire?! Why?! How?!

I'm really surprised at no mention of Friday Night Lights. It's having a great fourth season. With a submission episode like "The Son" and the excessive critical praise, as well as the overdo factor, I think this could be the one to sneak into the sixth slot.
