Quiz: Who won consecutive Academy Awards?

September 16, 2010 | 10:34 am

If last year's Academy Award champ Jeff Bridges ("Crazy Heart") triumphs next February for starring, just like John Wayne, in "True Grit," he'll become one of the few stars to nab consecutive Oscars. Some famous past examples: Luise Rainer ("The Great Ziegfeld," 1936; "The Good Earth," 1937), Spencer Tracy ("Captains Courageous," 1937; "Boys Town," 1938), Katharine Hepburn ("Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," 1967; "The Lion in Winter, 1968) and Tom Hanks ("Philadelphia," 1993; "Forrest Gump," 1994). One more double-header champ is pictured below. Who? To see the answer, click on the "Continue reading" link underneath the photos.
